I am aboard Lily M. The rain is pit spattering on the boom tent, the fan heater is humming - dring out the berth cushions in rotation. I have a good book, some olives and the web.
The weather forecast for the morning windy but mild.
The BBC says I will see some glimpses of the sun
the tide is doing this

with a mid day high water.
What a lucky man I am

The next KTL film covering Lerwick to Whalsay and Vidlin Voe is made. The computer says it wants 13 hours to render it out at 58 minutes
I will be up here until Sunday so I will take another look at it on Monday. The films always benefit from being left to mature for a day or so. They look very different after I have been sailing for a day or three. I will post it in time for Christmas. During those quiet days that run on a bit between christmas and new year you can escape to Shetland for an hour.

Braw – a new KTL film will definitely beat the usual dross on the box this time of year :)
Tis cold (minus 8 C.) here. Took 4 hours to clear the snow from the driveway with a gasoline powered snow blower. It is suppose to rain on Saturday then turn back to winter later Saturday – that should prove lots of fun. All the sailboats and other boats are put away. In a month the Ice Breaker will be busy on the Great Lakes keeping the shipping lanes clear as long as possible. It is a good thing we all have your videos to watch!
Hi Dylan. It looks nice and cosy. I can see some space still available on the bulkhead. I’ve got a nice postcard — unwritten — of a Westerly Centaur sailing in Poole Harbour. I’ll send it your way if I don’t forget. Finally, at last, I have spent some time on a Westerly Centaur (variant) with a stern cabin. Did some fishing on a wet evening in late October. See club report: Wardleys.org. I’m looking forward to the new film of course.
Very nice Christmas package you have planned for us, cant wait. With a beard you could be mistaken for Santa Claus.
Plenty of anti-freeze, much of which is the product of small distilleries very close to where you are presently…..
eh…. right now it is -21C outside, with wind chill factor – 31C…. a few days ago was not so bad, I had a cofee aboard ( boat is on its trailer in storage compound ), no heater but it was cozy +10 inside because it was sunny day and tarp over it acts like a greenhouse, if there is no wind….. even with canadian winters they are (short) moments of good time aboard :)
enjoy your boat & water…..

I get through my winters by spending them in Thailand with my family. My Centaur is on the hard for the winter, and I’m hiding in the warmth (writing this in front of a fan going full blast, actually). Reading what you guys choose to go through makes me feel like a sissy, really.
That’s a long time to render. Is it normally that long or have you been especially artistic on this one?
Great that theres imminent new footage to view. I was looking on your site to see if you had overcome the intellectual property nonsense of a few weeks ago. I’m guessing you have by the jaunty note of your latest postings.
Try The Range. Very cheap quite naff pictures that come in all sizes. I wanted to make a door to the anchor locker by the foot of the forecabin bunk – just bought a picture of old boats from the Range and stuck it up there – fits perfectly and looks brilliant.
That’s one of the things I love about boating – lateral thinking to solve problems…
