I left at first light - just as soon as i could mnake out any lobster pot bouys. The dawn was dramatic but I motored all day - apart from about 200 yards under skye bridge. I got to Mallaig at about 2.00pm - exhausted after yesterdays drive and todays slogging into the wind. The boat and the tiller pilot dealt extremely well with the oncoming wind and waves.
I am now connected to the lekkie and safe in harbour - I shall sleep like a log.
You may get a longer break, it’s looking pretty windy for you tomorrow

Good luck, hope it’s sheltered for you there.
Looking at the weather forecast, it’s going to be wet and windy later on Tuesday, the next leg is longer and more in open waters.
Lovely photo’s in the autumn light. I’ve just watched the forecast too, not looking good for tomorrow. On the subject of engine noise is there much you can do to reduce it without spending a fortune? I’d be interested in any suggestions.
Yep that’s cheap, cheaper than some boat jumble foam.
‘the ground is not the bin’ … PERFECT!
For the benefit of fisherman on the Iberian Peninsula this sign should be on every dock – but including the words “neither is the sea!”. I have been appalled at the apparent total lack of respect for the environment shown by fisherman in this region.
i love mallaig…………….. there’s something about the smell…………… old fish, old socks and seagull shit all pickled in diesel oil
