Whitehills

the weather threw the lot at us today -n heavy rain, bright clear sunshine, nasty squall, sunshine, strong westerly, sunshine, calm sunset.

Ashore all day and wrote my column for small craft advisor - immaculate shower block - first rate harbour master - this morning he was cleaning the bogs - never seen a harbour master do that before - there is a lovely laundry and nice little sitting room with a micro-wave and paperback library. £20 a night.

That’s an impressive wooden sloop (#4), though I expect she’s not as large as she looks on-camera. I suspect she flys a huge gaff-main with that raked mast so-far forwards. She’s almost a cat-boat, with rudder steering it looks. Wonderful.

Sounds a friendly marina D, are stopping up there much longer on this stint? Weather better down south mate, expecting a heat wave over the next few days. The Caledonian canal really intregues me, looks a great adventure that one!
Stop thinking about other boats D, KatieL will take you to all the places you need to go.

you are sailing in my wake

we shall see how you feel after five days below while Scotland drizzles, showers, downpours, fogs and drizzles again in an endless cycle of wetness.

Thanks for enduring the less-great parts of the journey so that we get the best parts.
