Following the great drama of the Cucumber sandwiches everything went a little bit quiet for the rest of the bank holiday weekend.....apart from the rain....it was still raining on the Tuesday as the 420 class dinghies went out into Hayling Bay for their National Championship and then came back again as there was no wind......while this was going on a Sun Oddesy 41 foot deck saloon yacht went one side of the CHI BAR beacon whilst its mast and rigging preferred the other .....a jam up ensued and the mast came unstepped and all sorts of nasties happened.........Harry Bowerman was nearby in a Safety boat escorting the dinghies in and gamely went on board to help sort out tke mess.......Muggins arrived shortly after and tied up alongside and climbed on board said yacht together with his bag of rusty tools and Jacques Cousteaus trusty bread knife............it then was a race against time.....the tide was now falling.....to undo forestay backstays shrouds boom and rod kicker electric cables and errant halyards with the mast making rude noises as it scrapped against the fibreglass deck....harbour patrol arrived and took off the owners wife as she was somewhat shocked. Eventually just one shroud was left connected and with a ping Harry let it go and the mast , sails and rigging were left hanging from the top of the Beacon and the yacht was now free to resume its passage to Chi Marina..........under motor.........on the way in we met the Harbour Masters crane barge going out ........to try and recover the rest of the bits ....and then it started raining again.......I wonder if the yachtsman will lose his no claims bonus..............Over to you music maestros please

Been there, done that! How did it happen? An autopilot 2degrees too low. Some drift from an outgoing tide and two blokes talking and not paying attention for a few seconds. We were barely moving. To quote a well known yachtsman,”Bummer!”

Dylan- I had quite the time tracking you down for such a small idea. The tea light candles to keep your work space and cabin warm. Here is a thought use a 8 hour candle than you would not have to change out or go thru so many. Just a thought. I find your recordings quite humorous. thank sue
