Ickle yacht

Harmony feels like a big yacht

but we are in Skeld marina/campsite

our neighbour is massive

and, I am pleased to say, showing a fine growth of weed on her bottom so clearly she does not make many wakes

we never intended to spend the night here

we went to Firth but the wind started howling and I was worried about the anchor dragging to we ran for the nearest pontoon

Bit of a shame? Your going soft mate. It gave good family boat building men work when it was built, and gives more work in its maintenance (occasionally) and it gives a rich man great pleasure in telling people he has a giant Gin palace down at the marina. All this and yet it doesn’t move, or have too much bottom paint on it, and so it is not out busting up the environment – Perfect! Here, year round, they are all out dumping lots of fumes, poisons, and one metre bow waves on the fragile ecosystem and migratory bird breeding area that is the estuary where I live….

It also looks a bit dated now. I’ve noticed that the newer mobos on Lake Windermere are moving back to the more classic MTB type mobo shape. i.e. more practical such that you can talk a walk around it without slipping off. Maybe he just can’t bear to be seen in it now and unfortunately can’t off load it. What a shame?

You seriously wonder who on earth would spend all that money on such an ugly piece of chav crap like that – and then never use it!

it is an amazing thing – one of the blokes there said that he comes down and takes it out just once a year – a quick spin up the sound and back again
