I have just been transferring my images to the desktop computer and that is a chance to have a look at them. It is funny how quickly the balance between the good bits and the bad bits shifts. I did spend quite a few hours sitting below waiting for the rain to stip - but between showers it was delightful. I also love seeing the wide variety of vessels in the area - from working boats to the three perfectly preserved fishing boats on Loch Edtive
So to sum up summertime Scotland…..mostly damp. You’ll have to stock up on fibrepile, better than fleece.
That IS a lot of wet!

If it’s any consolation, in Brittany they say that the weather if fair every day – several times a day!
I had a non stop rainy weekend on my boat recently. Just kept the ‘Tilley Lamp’ going night and day. Kept the cabin warm and dry throughout. The gentle hiss and pleasant quality of light is a really moral booster. My most prized piece of kit.
Which part of ‘ it rains a lot in Scotland ‘ don’t we get?
It’s a lovely cruising ground but only for a few days a year and you’ve had your few.

If it’s any consolation I hear Seattle / Vancouver area can be the same rainy weather and they say that’s lovely too.
I still haven’t found the place with warm but not hot, rain but only enough to keep it green,and year round sailing……
Pennsylvania is not the answer, but we do get a lot of sun in the winter which helps
