Sunset at Southwold harbour

It is going to be marvelous filming here through this winter

the geese are magnificent as they settle onto the salt marshes for the night - wheeling and turning in the sky.

Maggie and I had a fabulous evening bike ride

but she still floats – and continues to inhabit the dreams of the man who owns her

Does this mean we’re likely to see Katie L out on the water this winter?

Many kudos to the Fair Lady Jill on your new digs on the Blythe. Looks like a lovely locale to spend a year, a decade, …or a lifetime.

I am afraid not – to own two boats is bonkers – to have two on the water at the same time is uber insane

The films I’ve enjoyed best are the ones round the east coast harbours. All that flat landscape and mud! Mmmm! There’s something special about creeping a boat up a shallow creek. It feels as if you are cheating nature. I used to sail from Conyer Creek on the Swale where you were frequently sailing on dilute mud.

What’s the name of the boat in picture 13. Looks like “Khartoum” = Capital of Sudan, but also looks like there is another name painted over or underneath it. Is there political intrigue hiding at Wableswick? We love the area and visit whenever we can. Try to get to the folk night at the Eels Foot inn at Eastbridge if you can (well any night is good !!!). The Adnams brewery tour is also well worth doing. Fantastic pictures (as always). I love the low misty light over the marshes – keep up the great work.

the half hour ones took two weeks to make

    these might take longer

it has been a challenging autumn what with moving house, having no internet and then being Mackie’d in the middle of all that. I hope to make a start in the morning – so that means a few weeks at the minimum – sorry about that. Of course I might get another registered letter – then I will back into the defence mode
