Honda 2.3 in 23 foot boat

The longer I own the Minstrel the more I admire the designer

the little Honda BF 2.3 pushes her along nicely - astonishingly well.

and this is the tunnel with the boat out of the water

Well that answers my question! I did wonder how much push those Honda’s have.

4 kts out of a few HP, not bad at all. honda does sound as loud or louder. still think well is acting as resonance chamber.

any chance of “interview” vids of Brough boys? would have enjoyed watching you imbibe with them prior to cup noodles. very interesting facility and docks!

Are you saying that the Honda is still more economic flat out to give you 4 kts than the Tohatsu at half throttle or less?

Two old rother class lifeboats are in Wells and the Moelfre one is moored on the sand. I noticed that it has its twin screws in tunnels much like the Hunter.
I cannot seem to post a picture her but this link to the wells harbour site shows the tunnels when they relaunched the restored boats.

I wonder if there is some venturi effect from the tunnel acting as a duct to produce a jet of water?Richard
