Jan 23/24 – the Humber – simple blog

". . .the Nona has spent her years , . . threading her way out of harbours, taking the mud, trying to make further harbours, failing to do so, getting in the way of more important vessels, giving way to them, taking the mud again, waiting to be floated off by the tide, anchoring in the fairway, getting cursed out of it, dragging anchor on shingle and slime, mistaking one light for another, rounding the wrong buoy, crashing into other people, and capsizing in dry harbours." The Cruise of the Nona by Hilaire Belloc

I dropped Eleanor off at University in Leeds. It was snowing but I had already invested a tank of petrol getting up the MI so I decided to nick a couple of days aflaot

good for the brain and a chance to sit and read and listen to the sound of the water

The best time to sail even though it is cold.
By the way Roger Taylor was at the boat show with MingMing. He’s a not a creek crawler so if KTL were at the show you’d be mobbed as a lot of us do your sort of sailing – and probably sell lots of dvd’s. PBO might let you on to their stand.
Keep up the good work, Paul

A bit off topic, but Roger Taylor has purchased a Achilles 24 (like Little Plum) which he is going to convert to a junk rig by all accounts. He may be coming to a bit of an Achilles gathering over at Mumbles Yacht Club a bit later in the year.

    Cheers
