Bloody lovely Dylan………. I’ve gotta get there before I die!

  2. 28 January, 2017 at 12:26 pmdylan winter says:

    yes you do

Perhaps you should buy a ready to go tough old boat with stout sails and an almost brand new engine which is currently in a marina within eay reach of the sound of Yell

You could be sailing there in a well found boat by the time mid summer comes

then sell the boat again at the end for not much loss

From giant sea lice to Norwegian Heroes in the space of half an hour…….. it could only happen on KTL!

Loads of stuff I had no clue about ……can’t say you don’t do your homework Dylan !

When the light came good the shots of the cliffs were absolutely amazing, with the relife in such detail makes watching in HD on the big telly a must ….and then the eerie bird calls at the end…….Oooeeeerr!

Or was it the Kelpie ??

    Keep it going eh?

    Cheers

  6. 28 January, 2017 at 5:22 pmPeter Truelove says:

Thank you for more classic footage which clearly shows what an excellent sailing area this is…….. when the weather co-operates. Harmony’s sails set very well….. I know the red genoa has followed you to Lily M…… will you keep it for the future or does it have to go when you find a buyer? It’s a fine sail, I hope you hang on to it. P.

  7. 28 January, 2017 at 5:24 pmdylan winter says:

I will keep it for Centaur number 3

of course you know this might mean that and engine well is back on the cards

Ooooh I hope so. The engine well idea was a wonderfully entertaining creator of vexed correspondence. P.

I’m struggling for words to describe the huge pleasure and the emotional connection your ‘sailings’ give me. And I bet to so many others. I check each day to see if the next venture is posted. Raconteur, historian, camera-man supremo–you are an inspiration Mr Winter!! Bless you.

  10. 29 January, 2017 at 8:48 amStephen Mundane says:

Great entertainment — thanks Dylan. Have tapped using my real name as usual (I’m in disguise). By the way, the Youtube version says, “This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing.” The only way you can watch it there is by using the link here…

  11. 29 January, 2017 at 9:02 amdylan winter says:

that is the plan – I did that deliberatly.

I have just made a special youtube video for refuseniks with an annoying advert in the middle. That way it will gently remind the 8000 youtubers who watch every film to the end that they do not just drop out of the ether. My daughter, who works in the media, says that I have to spend less time sailing and more time manipulating those youtubists who love (I mean really love) the films but do not tap. She says that I need to rather rudely work on the those who feel mildly guilty about not tapping. She says that I should ignore the died in the wool non tappists – those who do not care will never tap in.

If I can raise the youtube tappers from 1.5 per cent to 3 per cent then I can get the budget back on track. That is the number 1 priority. Not the sailing, not the film making but the budget. It is a bollix but she says I have to do it.

You guys, and I know most of you by name or by making comments here, I send you thank you emails for your insanity in sending money to a bloke you have probably never met, to sail a boat you have only seen on video to places you are unlikely to go, are doing all the heavy lifting.

Eleanor says I need to spread the burden, widen the demographic, blah, blah, blah.

I would rather be sailing and making films than creating and uploading three slightly different versions of each film and pissing off a few yooutubists.

With died in the wool google refuseniks I have tried running the films backwards, upside down, with a KTL pre-roll advert and now an advert in the middle.

Spotify does it to me if I do not pay for the music they stream – it works – I pay up.

You tube gets eight times as many hits as vimeo or people who watch through this website.

Next week I am going up to scotland and will spend the week painting the inside of the cabin and the decks of the Centaur ready for selling. I would rather be sailing but needs must.

The budget has to be balanced

  12. 29 January, 2017 at 9:30 amBill Brannan, Tollesbury says:

    D,

Another outstanding bit of film. You are quite getting the hang of it, lol. It’s like having a film crew on one’s journey without the bother. Did you climb the Ronas hill at Voe and put your name in the book at the top? I think my fastest ever was the sound between Jura and Islay with a spring tide, 11 point something knots………

  13. 29 January, 2017 at 9:36 amdylan winter says:

I didn’t climb the hill – we had a tide to catch. It would be a bugger of a place to try to sail against it.

Isay and Jura will have to wait until I am bck on track – Katie L is too small for such places

  14. 29 January, 2017 at 9:42 amStephen Mundane says:

Ah, I get it now — thanks for the explanation. I had to go and watch the Youtube version with the advert and admit I found it very entertaining, particularly the soap-bubble analogy. Good luck with selling your well-found and newly-painted boat.

  15. 29 January, 2017 at 10:15 amsimon leslie ellis says:

Brilliant work Dylan! Loved the comments around 19:20! I think you should ask the BBC for a fair share of the licence fee that all your followers are undoubtedly paying (under duress in my case). So you consider your grey haired PayPal tappers as being ‘Patrons of the Arts’.? I do like the idea of that. Feeling all warm and gooey…

  16. 29 January, 2017 at 10:20 amDave "Wayfarer" B. says:

You sound alarmingly close to selling up – a dreadful prospect, but if you must…

Small consolation but we had a tremendous sail up the Sound of Islay a couple of years ago in the Wayfarer and back through Corryvreckan a few days later. LOA 15′ 10″ – just saying :)

    All the best!

  17. 29 January, 2017 at 11:50 amdylan winter says:

not selling up – or out

I still have plenty of energy and enthusism – just no diesel in the tank.

It is just a minor blip while I sort out the finances. No worse than the outboards being nicked, the wheel falling off the trailer, the demise of DVD sales. So I will sell the centaur to sweat the assets, cut my costs while I devote more time to marketing rather than making films. One way or another I have to get the youtubists who like my films enough to watch them all right through too the end to click the paypal button.

Most of them think that films rain down upon them dropping out of the ether – oh yes, hang on, that is just what happens if they are happy with slightly brainless great looking girls in yellow bikinis sailing 50 foot soap bubbles around washing up bowls – there is an endless supply of those waiting in the wings to flash their assets on the click bait thumbnails.

On the other hand witty, well informed, erudite old blokes sailing normal sized shit boats around interesting places and telling you about them are a bit harder to find.

    No cash flow, no films.

Eleanor says that I just have to tweak their tiny feelings of guilt about being takers rather than participants

I understand what you are saying about small boats and that I should HTFU and be as hard as wayfarer sailors.

However, running decent cameras on a wayfarer is a challenge. I run small cameras on even smaller boats than your behemoth.

I normally travel with around £3,000 worth of recording gear and about 30 batteries that need to be kept charged.

It is dead simple…. if the money stops I cannot afford to make the films.

I could go up for two weeks and snatch a few shots with a fish eye go pro of course, smear rock music over the shots to cover the wind noise and bung em up on the web with all the other dinghy sailing films – but that would be a bit pointless.

    Just saying like

  18. 29 January, 2017 at 11:51 amdylan winter says:

    excellent S, thanks for understanding.

I hate coming across as being needy but the budget has to balance. You blokes who visit and post here are doing the heavy lifting.

reducing youtube refusniks from 98.5 of “to the end of the film viewers” to 95 per cent should not be too hard. They have already shown their willingness to “engage” with the material (see how I am getting all jargonned up here). Thanks Eleanor.

In other words raising the tapper numbers from 1.5 to 5 per cent should solve the problemand, she says, and be achievable. Ten per cent would be better – then I could afford a boat heater and some diesel.

The uber clever daughter says I have to focus on the refuseniks rther than churning out flkms that reach ever more people but which do not cover their backsides. If non payers are offended by being asked to cough up for something they have been getting free for a decade then I can do nothing about it. Some of them are really upset or angry and I always get rude emails when I remind youtubists that they might consider chipping in.They and I just have to roll with it. If they do not want to “see the plea” (more jargon) then they can watch the films via this website.

Those who understand will tap in – those who prefer yellow bikinis being worn by kids young enough to be their grand-daughters will never tap in.

  19. 29 January, 2017 at 1:48 pmJon K says:

Is there any merit in re-mixing the early years into hour-long episodes and selling them off from here? I’ve tried to watch them all but they seem to wander between platforms (Vimeo/Youtube etc) and no-one wants a DVD nowadays.

I also think there’s mileage in using Many Others Boats to complete the portions of the circuit that you don’t want to drag Katie L to or that you don’t think she’s up to. I think Most Old Blokes would be quite proud to see their old boat get a run out and 15 minutes of internet fame in the hands of a skilled sailor and cameraman.

    Jon

  20. 29 January, 2017 at 2:02 pmdylan winter says:

The films should be easy to follow in order by using the navigation on the right or the interactive map stickied to the front page of the website. They also hang together pretty well on Vimeo. Youtube puts bikinis and adverts between them.

as for re-mixing – too time consuming and no-one but no-one wants to buy video now.

I have thought about using other peoples boats and I have had two similar offers from MOBs

    but…..

making the films is not really like ordinary cruising. I need to sail too close to the edge for the comfort of most sailors. I have clonked two rocks this summer. Most people would have kittens if I did that to their boats.

If I screw up a shot I will often turn around and go back for another go. Again most owners would hate that.

If there is a decent sunrise coming then I get up way before dawn and start sailing. Jill does not mind, she just satys in bed. Imagine you were on your own boat with a guest on board and you woke up to the sound of an old man raising your anchor before you were even out of bed.

Driving up and down to scotland has given me plenty of thinking time. I have thought my way up so many blind alleys and come right back to two essentials

I have to cut my costs

I have to increase my income.

It is the same as any other job – the books have to balance.

I am lucky in that I have enough films in the can for the next year or so. They are ready to be edited so that I can work on the refusniks.

So this year I can cut my costs to zero while I work on the income. The scottish islands – Jura, Iskay, Harris etc will have to wait until I have enough money to run the right boat.

One bloke says he likes my films because my boat is always the shittest in the anchorage. If the films will not cover the cost of running the shittest boat then the answer is to kill those costs and raise the revenue. Not from you blokes. You guys are already paying enough. In a way it back to the old Google/youtube thing.

Jill says I have to reach through that google controlled screen and make contact with the sailors who like the films.

  22. 29 January, 2017 at 2:33 pmdylan winter says:

Both were on film – so they will be going up next winter

One was Raasay and the other was Luing. Both involved getting too close to the edge when filming.

the boat survived both of them – frightened me big time though

  23. 29 January, 2017 at 6:13 pmBill Brannan, Tollesbury says:

Ah, Raasay, did you meet Paul Camilli of “end of the road(Callum’s road) fame? Where was the rock, cos the chart and the plotter are about 20 meters adrift? Had a moment there myself. Plotter had me sailing through the end of the cliff and the rocks weren’t that far away.

Love this latest film Dylan. Especially the long fade in the northern twilight. The bird calls put me in mind of Finnish composer Rautavaara’s Cantus Arcticus, (Concerto for Birdsong and Orchestra). Well worth a listen if you don’t already know it, one quiet evening when you need some peace.

    Dylan,
Another great video, how much footage do you take when you are out sailing and do you have an idea of what you want to film beforehand or just wing it with the experience you have. PBO should get you to be one of their regular features as you are probably closer to the average reader/sailor than a lot of the other contributors. Keep them coming while you can, which incidentally was some advice given to me by my old Dad regarding girlfriends, but the comment fits your videos as well.

  32. 29 January, 2017 at 9:38 pmdylan winter says:

I film pretty much everything I see from the boat and sail stupidly close to the shore. I then row to the shore if it is worth it – as with the chapel in Orkney. I am now pretty tight with the rushes – I reckon around 20 to one or so

as for earning cash writing – not any more. the magazines pay £100 a thousand words – snaps for free and the expect you to trun up and speak at boat shopws free of charge as well so they will never be a source of revenue. The advertisers want to put their ads against something they can sell. I am an old bloke sailing a really shit boat.

  33. 29 January, 2017 at 9:50 pmSam Bateman says:

Most excellent film! Thoroughly enjoyed it!!
I have a Galion 22. A fairly early one that was sailed over sometime in the late 70’s or early 80’s. Possibly as a participant in an early Transat.
I hope to one day sail the periphery of the Chesapeake Bay with it much the same as you’ve done around the UK.
Our tides here are a bit less robust than yours but the scenery – which can only be seen from the water – is still pretty impressive.
Keep sailing, keep making films and I’ll keep supporting as I can.
    Fair winds!

  34. 29 January, 2017 at 10:21 pmGene Berry says:

    Hello Dylan,
really enjoyed this one. wasn’t long into it before i had to put you on pause and cure the overwhelming urge for a cup of Earl Gray. i liked your history lesson, especially the part about your father and his like of the yanks. i spent a little time near Stonehenge once in one of the little army posts. one of your old WWII blokes was telling me a story about as far as the eye could see the pup tents that housed the yanks. he said the only problem with them was “They were oversexed, overpaid, and over here!”
    Cheers mate.

  35. 29 January, 2017 at 10:23 pmBruce Kratky says:

Your daughter is correct. I should be paying for your content! There are other sailing videos which are fun but to put it mildly, they are totally vacuous. At 65 years of age and father of three lovely daughters, the bikini clad girls in those videos don’t hold the same attraction powers they had on me when I was 16. Go figure. My father flew B-17’s in WWII and I know so much about that war from an American’s perspective. When I hear other stories of other people who fought and suffered and hear those stories from another perspective, I feel more complete. Having spent 22 years of my professional career in the fish and seafood distribution business, being the first buyer to introduce Norwegian aquacultured, Atlantic Salmon to the market in Chicago back in 1979 or 80, the story of the challenges of aquaculture bring back memories of years gone by and concerns of times past manifested in the present. No surprises for me just validation of what I knew back when. All that being said I find myself at a loss to contribute as I have attempted to do so and have come to multiple dead ends. M.O.B. Fund, and the PayPal button below your videos lead me to PayPal but PayPal does not lead me back to your sight either the blog site, email, or cell phone reference. I have an account with PayPal. I have used it multiple times in my computer life. I can’t seem to connect with your site. Hummmm. Help me out now and I promise that I’ll pay a goodly amount each time I view one of your journies. They have become dear to me and i look forward to them. I so want a sailboat. Thinking I’ll purchase an Alberg 30, sail the Great Lakes, and maybe down the East Coast to Florida. Challenge is that 45 years ago I didn’t ask my bride to be whether she would like to go sailing with me. Drat! If I only know then what I know now, or, if I only knew the most important questions to ask back then. Double Drat! Anyway, so as to continue to allow myself to vicariously live my sailing life partially through your exploits and amazing narratives, help me pay you now and in the future. ;) “Lilly Livered Liberal…” ha, ha, ha.

    B,

thanks for your kind words. Our two nations have fought side by side for many years. It is a strange relationship between two parallel cultures.

I am sorry about the paypal button not working. I have no idea why = others seem to work

the other thing you can do if the buttons refuse to work is to go to your paypal acocunt and there you will find a send money tab – youput in this email [email protected] and it should work as well

As El says, I need to spend more time on marketing and less time on films.

I promise to squander every penny on boats and cameras

Thanks for your efforts. Some of us only dream of where you take us. I love history lessons and contact with local lore.

Who knows, maybe someday I will have the opportunity to shake your hand and share a meal with you.

  41. 30 January, 2017 at 7:53 amdylan winter says:

you never know George – perhaps one day.

I was on a pontoon in Brightlingsea when Kiwi walked down the walkway, introduced himself and we spent a great day sailing together on the Colne in Essex

It will not be on Lily M though. The die is cast – she will be sailed by another man this summer otherwise my cash point card will stop working

I will spend more time at the desk and less time adventuring in far flung places for a year or so until the money comes back into balance.

Like some of you guys, I will be a bit of a virtual adventurous sailor while I schlep up and down the same bit of river/coast in a small boat.

  42. 30 January, 2017 at 8:10 amdylan winter says:

thanks H, you are a man of your word. I hope that I can get this thing underway again. In the meantime there are films to be posted. I hope that by the time I run out of material shot in scotland I will have found another revenue stream.

  43. 30 January, 2017 at 8:12 amdylan winter says:

    Thanks Chris,

I really enjoyed the evening. Excellent food and my beer glass kept on re-filling itself.

Your club women were amazing – they knew more about boats than their men.

I was, as promised the second to last person to leave the bar. The £400 speakers fee went straight into the coffers of Kip marina in Scotland.

    Dear Eleanor

I agree with you whole heartidly, Get the old boy into marketing more. Make him wear a KTL baseball cap or sweatshirt and lets see how many people comment asking how they can get one – or perhaps a KTL travel mug. Then he can thank you later for being right. Oh and get the bugga on Facebook – the like and share and page boost options are great. Dylan – stop being such a perfectionist and promote yourself as a business just for bloody once – Rant Over , Dylan we all love you but your films are so good , so interesting and factual and tranquil and relaxing etc etc we feel like we are on holiday with you !

  46. 30 January, 2017 at 3:49 pmdylan winter says:

    I have a plan. No I have a strategy.

I have to focus on specific youtubers

the 50 per cent of all viewers who watch the films right to the end

those are the ones who need to come off youtube and to this website where they are free to wander around taking and watching everything here free of charge. The only price is to occasionally scroll past a paypal button

  47. 30 January, 2017 at 5:17 pmSamBateman says:

I actually looked at a Hurley when I was searching for my ‘perfect’ boat.
I like the Galion better. 3700 lbs displacement, 50% ballast/displacement ratio, standing headroom (for a short person), and a fin keel. She’s a stiff little boat…. And only draws 3 1/2′.
No inboard in mine, which I prefer – leaves plenty of room for battery placement down low in the motor cavity while still leaving lots of room for storage.
I’d love to find out more on the history of this boat. Her number indicates a very early production date. And her first registered name was “Transat 1” I’ve been told. But I have no idea how to research British registration info on something like this.

Don’t worry – I saw your films from e.g. the Butley River – not exactly what most people would call comfortable, even tolerable in most cases! No, we enjoy the stuff you produce and it does as you say require a reasonable base from which to shoot video, charge batteries, upload footage and stay sane.

Your constant ability to change tack (pun intended) as circumstances change is inspiring, as is your continuing enthusiasm for the project.

Once again, all the best and I hope to see you on the water again before too long.

    Dylan.
So we watched this lovely film on the big Telly , delightful , I had the full advert in the middle as I was watching on the you tube channel that comes with my cable subscription. That’s about $75/ month plus another $60 for the internet, and $40+ for the phone taxes etc by the way!. Kind of puts the $10 tap a month in perspective and I don’t think I tap anywhere as much as that.
So I noticed your ‘you tube’ subscription are about 14000, seem like quite decent amount so I went to look at my other yachting Utube channel follow/subscribe to , most were about the same or less , some way more like white spot pirate 40,000+ it’s she has 30yrs on you and exotic locations. Most of them use Patron to assist with funding .
Before I looked up the stats I checked you channel and clicked the ‘from the beginning’ playlist and have been having a delightful couple of hours,so far, watching your early stuff from Bembridge to the Medway so far. Lots and lots of interesting stuff to talk about and film. I would encourage everyone to spend an enjoyable evening watching. Defiantly worth rerelease I think there must be plenty who have never seen the early stuff.
    Cheers warren

Can’t agree more about the tea,(sorry gene) we can get Tetley in the states but but the everyday tea of choice is called ‘red Rose’ puke name, but it’s decent black tea and make a good cuppa unless you just come back from Uk and it tastes wimpy for a day or 2. There is nothing like a good hair on the chest cup of tea to get you going first think in the morning though. It seems to clear the morning mist too……
Coffee, never make it , but drink it all day, I buy at my local convince store chain” Wawa” for $1.50/20 oz mug full, can’t beat it. Starbucks ?uck! burns my throat and costs $$$ and you have to stand in line and get some pilliark to pour it for you!
Never buy tea when I’m out……..the concept of water at a “rolling boiling” has not reached the USA yet.

I like this idea, and would eagerly buy a couple of shirts emblazoned with “I sailed ’round Britain with Dylan Winter”…”keepturningleft.co.uk”…”I vicariously sailed The Slug” or something witty that guides people to your website. I go through ball caps at a good clip and would relish a couple.

If Eleanor is keen on marketing, why not ask her to run this end of the business? Maybe she’d work cheap.

If 1.5 percent of your 14000 subscribers bought a shirt or cap or two, and you made £10 from each subscriber, you’d be £2700 to the good.

I think Sea Blue would be a good color.

What does it cost to keep a boat these days in UK?

Ah and here i thought i was being all “English”. btw i do have Tetley’s also but according to a 2010 survey a small minority likens Earl Gray with being posh. as i don’t see myself as posh i will exhaust my supply of the gray and stick to the more manly Tetley. thanks for setting me straight.

Dylan, great to see you back doing the videos. Really enjoyed this one, stunning scenery and interesting history. I am sorry that you have had to take a break from turning left, but if it means it gives you time to sort out Katie L and work on more videos then every cloud …

Alternatively if you want to have a go at sailing a Hunter Horizon 273 then I am just down the A12 at Martlesham Heath.

Great bit of film Dylan, really liked shots of Ronas Voe and the red stone geology. Did you not have the time to look at Unst? Thanks mate well done…And you say Lunna ..Loona (sorry couldn’r resist it).

the names of the places is impossible to get right. It is the old shrewsbury problem — even the locals cannot aggree. Sorry about missing out on Unsta. I am saving that for the next time around. I missed fairisle too. Maybe some nice man with local knowledge such as yourself will make some films about sailing there. In the meantime I guess I am the only game in town – I have heard that one of the bikini girls is planning to do the tough bits around britain that I missed.

Hi Dylan, what a wonderful film again!
The tacking-sceens mixed with the story of the shetland bus is really a “finesse”, feels like sailing together and beeing told the story on the way! And the best end of an episode ever!
While watching and having in mind your words about the paypal-taps, that peak shortly after the release and fade away too soon I was about to recommend, that you make your films shorter. That would make the waiting for the next episode easier. (Normally I check your blog at least once a week to see if there`s something new :-) ). That would give the followers more occations to pay!
But at the end of the film I realised that the length of the film and the calmness of the way you tell the story gives the audience the time to calm down themselves. After half an hour of whatching, one had the time to open ones heart and soul and to get an impression of the overwhelming landscape and beauty of an overcast and windy day at sea!
I appreciate your filming very much and i can understand why your artistic approach doesn`t cope with the sketchy and bustling youtube-entertainment.
Maybe there could be a way to have both: More frequently puplished shorter films to get more revenue, popularity and subscriptions on youtube and the epic long-versions once in while on the blog for those who understand and cherish your approach!

Thank you very much for your inspiring and wholehearted stories, your forthrigthness and humor!

    Christoph

PS: As a long-term husband myself a can really encourage your plan to get a comfortable boat and recommend a proper double-berth.
Enjoy life, sailing and being together with the one you love as much as possible!

    C,

    thanks for your kind words

making the short stuff is of no interest to me anymore. I do not want the story of this journey to be a series of gobbets of a bloke sobbing over the broken or stolen engine. That stuff bores me sideways. I have just spent three days painting the inside of a shit boat –

I started making a film about an old bloke with bad knees putting masonry paint on his decks. Then I thought I would not bother.

I know that there are around 4,000 blokes like you once were, who have watched most of the films to the end and never chipped in.

if this project is to get a re-boot those 98.5 per cent of not tappers have to start making sure that each film earns £2K. If it doesn’t then I will just go sailing on the river that runs past thhe end of my garden.

Once/if it does reach £2K then I will start editing the next one.

The maximum I can make is eight good half hour films a year – that will be 24 weeks sat on my old mans flat arse at an editing desk for about 12 hgours a day.

I could make some real time films about painting the decks – but that would be boring unless I was a young woman in a bikini.

    thanks for the tap.

May I ask you how many hours of KTL you think you watched before you decided to become a patron of the arts in your amazing act of pure altruism

and what was it that preciisely shoved you over the edge

Folks, I think it’s time we all step up and support Dylan with a donation. Let’s each one of us put our money where our web browser is and send him at least $5 or$ 5 Pounds each which ever you prefer. We all know we enjoy his fantastic commentary and his dry wit. Don’t be a slug…get that wallet out. Cheers!

Dylan, I finally got round to watching this one ‘on the big telly’ (as recommended). Enjoyed every bit…even educational bit about parasites. I clicked on the Paypal button and made a small contribution. When I looked st my Paypal email receipt, I realized it had gone to your old Virgin email account. Does Paypal somehow re-route these payments to you, or have I got to go after a refund and start over?

now you need to go back and watch them all properly

an entirely different experience you will find. drink cheap whisky in my honour when you watch them – none of the good stuff – remember you are watching KTL not the americas cup. the moneyu goes to the same place and I get a notice in my inbox that it has arrived.
I have not worked out how to kill that old email from paypal – it refuses to die but it is the same pot. Thanks for the tenner – jolly good of you. I usually do the thank you emails in the morning with my coffee. Aty the moment they are running at about ten a day – 4,000 films watched per day

Hello Dylan. I hope you are in the Pink! Just watching again after Recent Wife’s illness and House move upheaval. What are you doing now, July 2019. Any new Sailing adventures? Wanted your advice about buying a Centaur, What to look out for etc. She is an 1979 Model with the B layout, very like the one you sailed, C/W a 20 HP Beta Diesel with Low Hours. The Keels have been refitted and Bolted with Stainless Bolts, Etc and the Hull Epoxied and resprayed 2 Years ago. Kind Regards, George in County Down.

I hope she is better now… it is good that you are thinking about boats again. I loved my Centaur… my answer is always the same.. buy a boat, buy a boat, buy a boat. Send me a link to the one you are propoing but any centaur with fixed keels (they have all been done now I should think) and a good engine is worth having.
