phew! – although I am still in fear that an ipad or two will throw in a wonky

Brill film as always, but yes, on my iPad your voice becomes virtually inaudible from about 15 minutes in, when the RIB is doing his MOB duty. The music is at the correct volume. The first 15 mins are oddly completely OK. Perhaps iPads don’t like MOB drills? John B

worked perfect on an android tablet, although i was using chromecast to get it on the proper telly. Orkney looks a great (although challenging!) place to sail…..looking forward to the next instalment, need to make them quicker D as i’m running out of old ones to watch!

I am having problems making the audio work for both tellies and tablets. I can compress the signal so that it sounds like medium wave radio or I can leave the dynamic range

strangely enough when I started most blokes watched on a desktop CRT and desktop speakers –

the CRTs really help to make the most of poor images

I used to suggest pushing the chair back and putting your feet on the desk to watch

people were watching highly compressed films but they looked okay

now they are less compressed and look great on a big telly – but now lots of more people are watching on tablets the size of letter boxes and with speakers the size of raisins.

Thanks CJ – it is nice to see some bright light at this time of year4 – even if it is coming at you through a computer screen

I think that everything is doable provided you wait for the weather and pre-plan the places to run to

it is when you cannot hide that things can get nasty. Up in orkney there are loads and loads of great anchorages

Great as usual Dylan head phones in on an iPad all is well to the point I can hear the camera rolling (I think!).

Maybe now I am 60 I need a young man to edit the films – there is something getting onto the track I can no longer hear on my logitec speakers

Doubt it matters much as most of us are around the same age or not far off! And of cause for me it’s totally irrelevant!

  15. 8 January, 2016 at 2:01 pmNiall Moran says:

oi – some of us are still the right side of 40 ;)

  16. 9 January, 2016 at 3:31 pmNiall Rath says:

    Cheers, nice one.

  17. 9 January, 2016 at 5:32 pmEade says:

eh, writing from left to right means your’e over 40; I agree, on the right side…

At 59 I am on the right side of 40! Its all relative to your viewpoint.

I would hate to be working as hard on other peoples projects now as I was when I was 40.

blimey those were tough years with kids and mortgage and only sailing when work allowed

now when the sun shines…. I am off

Video plays great on iPad and the big Telly direct from Vimeo. No audio or video issues at all.
Enjoyed the voyage. The rocky coast line is cool but a little freaky for a ditch crawler. Still suprised how much mud and sand there is in Scotland.

the awful thing is I can hear it now – provided I move the laptop away from the main desktop. It is bang on the frequency of my hard drives

H is such a good bloke he has ripped the audio track, killed the buzz, stitched it back in so I will replace the film with his version

    bloody brilliant

he is now head of audio at KTL industries
