Lovely journey thanks. Had a bit of a hiccup in the middle where the advert came on. It restarted from the beginning so I had to jump it on a bit which is always a bit awkward. Slightly jumpy in places and there was plenty in the buffer so not that I think.

Looking forward to more as always.

Great ride into the ‘Wash’. Look forward to your exploration of this area.
Also just realized that I was have mistaken Wells on the Sea for Wells south of Bristol when telling you about Lord Wells and Sir David Lindsay going at it on London Bridge. Hey, what can you expect from a Scottish American, but learning England (at least the coastal regions)from your gutsy sailing.

    Keep the shiny side up

    Wonderful.
We still have ice on the lakes here but at least the snow is melting.

I bet you’re glad to get that over with. Looking forward to seeing the Wash in all its glory. Keep up the good work :~)

Forgot to say that I found you new TV Blip server works better for me. Just let it run a little ahead and it will play stright through for me.
    Thanks

    Hi Dylan,

just watched this, guess you’ll get to know “nineteen trees” intimately by the time you’ve been up & down a few times!

Did you know that the naturalist Peter Scott used to live in one of the lighthouses? He used to shoot & paint wildfowl and eventually gave up shooting to conserve ducks 7 geese at Slimbridge hop I’m not pre-empting your future narrative here.

Why don’t you use the “route” section on your gps – saves keep having to load next waypoint and press “goto”?

Weather improving quickly now but sods law says you’ll have lots of paid work coming up now to interfere with sailing.

Hope to have my boat back in next month. Can’t wait.

    All the best.

    Richard

Sir Peter Scott’s autobiography ‘The Eye Of The Wind’ covers this area superbly and the rest of the book is riveting too. But as ever Dylan, you nail it pretty well yourself.

I anyone else getting adverts in the film – that should not be happening.

Pleased that the server works though

Excellent ride, enjoyed every moment. New server works great, no more waiting ages for the next bit to load.
Looking forward to seeing the next one.

That worked really well for me. ThoughtI’d have a dip and watched it straight thru,. Good to see your navigating in action too. I’m mounting a little holder on the bulkhead for my GPS tomorrow after crawling around anti-fouling today. So even if the light wasn’t good you conjured up a great little piece.
    Cheers

Great film as usual, I’ve seen the way Wells bar works many times and wouldn’t want to swop places with you on that one. However this played through with no stopping! Brilliant! Advert came in at the end of the film. New server works better than the old one I’d say.

It all worked perfectly for me… One thing, I had no idea how long the film was going to run, in the old days we had a little sign to the right saying 5.00 or 25.00 or whatever. Useful when fitting a viewing in to other more legit activities. Salty John is good, bought a couple of bits and pieces through your site – impulse buying.

    All the Best

Nice film, Dylan. Your looser narration was just fine. If it keeps you in the editing room less and on the water more, I’m all for it. Can these new vlogs be run SD like the old ones? I miss my “big screen.”

    Just wonderful, no commercials.
Loved the bit about Woman’s Hr.
Would be much more dramatic on the big screen. lovely destination to come into at the end of a long day. Would have slept well that night.

it should still play large – click the little tv on the bottom of the frame – good idea about the length of the film – I will start to add that

    Nice going there.
See you are miles ahead of me – still have The City of London on her trailer….
Think your extended vlogs might be quite a bit more practical for you.
Editing a “real” film must take forever and a day.

A great film – a good call on the weather but clearly a bit hairy over the bar. 40+ miles must have been a slog!
    looking forward to more.

Really enjoyed this raw KTL – best for a while. I actually enjoy all of the vlogs and often wish they were a bit longer. Your films are wonderful and very artistic and will appeal to a much wider audience. However I like just hearing about the nitty gritty of the sailing. This format is great for the tragics who can then get others hooked on the films.
    Many thanks Jonathan

Brilliant! I’ve been waiting for the next installment and wasn’t disapponted. Good bit of seamanship through tricky waters, particularly alone. Well done.

If you mounse over the time bar the time shows up 24+ min.
video running good occasional blips. I had trouble sunday evening on other Vlogs but at 6.30 am(usa) its working fine. I think the time of day makes a big difference and I have the Verizons/Vodophone fiber optic thing!
I stopped for 1/2 hr and it started up no problem. Time bar ends up at begining again but still playing the middle.
Might have been interesting meeting one of the ‘scrap’ ships in a narrow section!
    Lovely long video. Enjoy Wisbech!

Dylan, these traveller-video’s are the ones I really love. You took us from the frightening barr to the peacefullnes of the Wash. At the end of a long day the ligths of a quite harbour. Yes, that is really about the romanticism of travelling. In a few weeks my own little yacht will be back in the water. Thank you for helping me surviving the winter. And have a great time in the Wash!

    Dylan,

I love the vlogs as much, or even possibly more than the edited ones.
They show the true action, the good, the bad and the ugly.

When you were saying Grey, Grey grey grey I thought you were going to
    launch into a sea shantie.
My boys have been re-watching pirates of the caribbean, and it sounded like like the same melody the pirates chanted on it.

Ho Ho a bottle of rum … just before they were to be executed, or was that the theme ?

Perhaps you are a re-incarnated pirate

Very good Dylan, keep it up.
You can have another pocket of silver from me, 10p doesn’t go far these days.

    Another Andrew.
