Have returned to watching your videos after a lengthy absence. Inspiring me to do some work on my Leisure 17 which hasn’t seen the water in a few years.

Dylan – Fantastic as usual !
Been looking forward to these. You are creeping ever closer to the area would like to visit (even with a 17′ mobo ) These will fill the gaps while DIY takes precedent over boating this Spring. I wish you and yours a relaxing & Blessed Easter.
    Thanks

Cheers G – and for the MOB paypal tap

time to sell that mobo and touch the zen in an old fangled sailing machine

    You’re welcome Dylan.
I do think about sailing (especially when filling a 130ltr petrol tank !) , have been for sailing lessons , have been out on friends Hanse 32? I think – but we are constrained by time with 2 jobs 2 kids 2 cars 2 sets of elderly parents etc. So while we enjoy spending 2 hours pootling along @ 5kts to get somewhere, we also like the fact that we can be back at the jetty / trailer / slipway in half an hour should the need arise. And that leaves time in between to picnic / fish / observe in an 8 hour day , grabbed between working weeks . You can check out some of our boating areas on my FB page, should be a few pics in the galleries.
    Keep up the good work
    George

Really enjoyed the video, Anstruther is one of my favourite places as it was where my old boat Water- Lily a 1937 48ft ring netter, was built. Sadly she is no more but love the areas around Anstruther. Great video with the family. I put something in the kitty. Looking forward to the next videos. Andy

The bit where the family arrives is just great. I’m envious of their involvement in your Great Expedition. My twin 22 year old daughters have yet to get to grips with the sailing thing, but there are keen boyfriends in the offing – so who knows…

Lovely film mate – keep it up.

Great stuff D. So which season will we be on when we get to see three generations of Winters onboard then?

  12. 6 April, 2015 at 8:26 amdylan winter says:

Bloody brilliant Dylan. Your best yet, you got everything right in my eyes. How this can’t be picked up by a TV network is beyond me. But what do I know, I’m just an MOB……

This was an unexpected treat. I though that after the Solent series there would be a long dry spell with no additions as you got on with moving and spring sailing. Inspiring stuff – especially now that the snow here is starting to go down – only about 2 metres in the back yard now. Nice to meet your family. You are indeed blessed to have children and a spouse that enjoy what you enjoy.

as my dad said – count your blessings

    – however, for the young people time is in short supply, I tell them not to but they keep on wasting it on work and careers

Hi, Dylan, one of your best …. thank you! UK seems a long way away some days, beautiful though the sailing is out here in NZ. You have inspired my plan to follow in your wake as soon as my contract ends and I get back to the mud of Tollesbury … Keep on tacking … fair winds and following seas … Roy

Enjoyed this very much and am envious of you having “kids” to sail with. I have found that when we caught fish the easiest and quickest way to kill them was with a very small amount of alcohol poured on the gills. They seem to die instantly and if it is good whiskey or rum I assume happily.

Enjoyed Anstruther film so very much. Thanks for all. Good luck on your next phase of your adventure.

met my Aunt before. I was wondering if you could help me with information of the boat and also the history. I had last heard about it from the Floating Kitchen programme but had drawn a blank since then, Any help would be fantastic. All the best, Robert

Been watching your videos, only got about 7 hours sailing experience but just bought a Corribee 21 fin keel which is on the river Medway, I need to put all lines to cockpit to make it easer to sail. looking forward to sailing her this year.

  22. 13 March, 2016 at 7:10 pmdylan winter says:

    sailing is easy

    just enjoy it

love the Medway – you will have some marvelous evenings in Stangate Creek

as long as you have a reliable outboard that starts and stops when you ask it then everything else is easy

Well Dylan fun as La Vagabonde might be for a little while, I think any of the ladies in this( below link) and the following films would sent your click count way up if you have more footage from that part of the trip.

These family fun films are among my favorites and I hope you get a chance to get some more trips like that in the future.
Reminds me of times I will never have again.
Might be tough to repeat with your new boat choices!
    Cheers Warren
