Bet you don’t miss the unforeseen expenses that plagued you, memory sure smooths out the pain.
But I know what you mean, memories of old loves are generally seen through rose coloured glasses, but the old Slug was a magic carpet for all of us that follow your progress…we miss her too!

I think that it is the unforeseen that resides in our memories.

I never truly remember the multitude of sails that went smoothly in fair winds and easy seas, but those filled with squalls, gear breakages and leeward shores seem as fresh as the day they occurred!

that is the glory of the video camera

it reminds you how the boat really sailed

the bad memories associated with a bad engine are fading and the slug is taking its rightful place as one of the boats that gave me most pleasure

there were times when it was wonderful – for a triple keel 18 footer is sailed very well indeed and was small renough to paddle when the wind did not deliver

never really got frightened – apart from wells bar

“man I miss the slug’, (small s)

And now I’m joining you in mourning the loss of an honest and erstwhile chum…
