    #38= hard-core boatporn
Most of the others are hard-core excellent scenery.
Are there any marinas with decent slipways up there, as I have an urge to take my trailer sailer on a long drive very soon?

    slips every where

lots of trailer launched skiffs used by the keen fishermen
where I am at dunstaffnage they have two slips

it is an ideal place to launch a trailer sailer

and if you want you can llaunch it yourself and get them to recover it for you at the end of your holiday

I am expecting them to offer me a discount on my next bill

the car costs £5 a day

Craobh has a decent slip too.
The Ardfern one has a nasty drop off the end to be careful of, but it’s OK at high tide.
I launched and recovered my Colpand Harrier 20′ at Tayvallich without problems but that’s a very much DiY place, and further south too.

    Good pics Dylan.

These are v. good teasers for the film. I suspect you’ve been re-inspired by the location and an abnormally long period (well, more than a morning) where you could get the camera out. Looking forward to them.

Those photos bring back happy memories of the area. Will be dropping the engine back into my little Westerly in the next two weeks, you’ve encouraged me, yet again, to extract the digit and helped clarify my priorities.
Wonder how many other old buggers are blaming you for their escape attempts??

quick… quick… at our age time is of the essence…. get that boat going whatever the cost – and focus on the esssentials – paint can wait

With all those great pics I wonder what Dylans screensaver shot is.

it changes all the time – nothing stays more than a day or two before I click on something else

my own shots have memories with them – which adds an extra dimension

Photo no. 11 – I’m not a great lover of power boats but that’s a classic. A Fairey Swordsman I think. An old friend of mine used to have a RC model with a 2 cyl. 4-stroke engine. Happy days…. The rest of the pics are great too, of course.

    Boatporn – She is stunning.

The Fairey Swordsman (?) in picture #11 was used in the James Bond film “From Russia With Love”. There were several of them actually. It’s the last chase scene near the end of the flick. Love your blog Dylan, keep up the good work.

    is that the actual boat?

I did film her underway – she makes a lovely burble

  14. 9 July, 2016 at 2:53 amClifford Dunning says:

Probably not the actual one. pardon me, I should have been a little more explicit. But they used 4 or 5 boats in the scene that looked just like it, only the paint scheme was different.

shucks – I thought it was a famous boat – they are great looking vessels though
