Obvious. One Folkboat for each foot, plus one for Sundays.

You’re only one boat away Dylan! If we count the punts and dinghies…

Embarrassingly I also have three boats but quite modest – a Shrimper 19, a self built Chesapeake Sharpie and a 9 Curlew plywood dingy my father built in the seventies – all still active on the water – some more active than others !

I have 3 boats too, not including tenders. The 20′ trail sailer is on the drive, it seemed like a good idea at the time. The Centaur is about ready to advertise, it has to go. I’m now sailing the family deck saloon, when I get chance to get out of Tarbert. Holding on to 3 boats is not good. Having 2 and ditching them in favour of another is a different thing.

yours are different boats and still being sailed — these are three similar boats – all in slow decline – two will rot away completley unless hee sells them on

Having three boats, each for a different purpose is one thing, perhaps even desirable for variety’s sake. But three identical boats is either curating to restore — or hoarding.

I think it is the latter Ted

Here’s a great trick for those Polynavicularmorbus sufferers. I once had six, count em, six boats if you include all the tenders etc. I managed to sell three of them to friends who amazingly still remain friends. These friends maintain and manage these boats brilliantly and what’s more, they ask me to sail them (or use them in the case of tenders) when I can. So I still have the use of six boats without all the fuss.

I am working on reducing the load even more, but there is nothing quite like having one’s own boat to fiddle with and adapt and sometimes just go to sit on. So you have to have something to manage…

May I join the ranks of SOGs. I have three small boats. two much loved Devon Yawls, one of which I have had for 34 years and was raced enthusiastically. There was a third Devon Yawl that I had a half share in that we rescued from the Austrian/Hungarian border area. I sensibly sold my half share. The third still with me is a Percy Blandford designed 9 foot Curlew that a sailing mate of mine built from plans in the mid 1960s and made a superb job of her. Stupidly I have taken them all apart for complete refurbishment, and…

Anyway, would be interested to learn more of Ewan’s Curlew mentioned above.

I only have pre refurbishment and unrigged, and some of her in my boat shed (garage) part restored, plus one of the new sails. Oh yes and a copy of the general arrangement plan. Any good?

Been trying to figure our what the red one is.
the other 2 look like wood so I’ve no idea but neither is a folkboat.
my best guess is a an American Bristol, about 34′
the big windows look to big but might have been enlarged.
the wood cove strip on the coachroof is the key as that eliminated colombia, pearson or even cape dory. I think its American as i’m sure i’ve seen them over here but I could be all wet too!
