Hi, Dylan. Well, its a cold winter here in Sweden and I can tell You its really nice seeing Your films about nature, birds and boats and You give it time, its not in a MTV tempo flickering back and forth.

    Hi Dylan –

I finally got around to subscribing rather than just free-riding on the youtube videos. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to more videos.

    Best regards,

    Dave

    Hi Dylan,
Been awhile since we chatted by email. Life got in the way. I’m paid up and ready to welcome spring by catching up on your journey. Looking forward to reviewing from the beginning. Still cold here in Chicago as I look at my little boat everyday just calling to me.

Hi Dylan, I’ve been following your Youtube videos for a while, finally got around to subscribing – now I can start from the beginning and see the lot! Your films make me wish I’d learnt sailing when I was a kid! I’m really enjoying your professional film-making and the excellent commentary.

It is always hard to know how to turn youtubers into KTL ers. At the moment I am starting to give away more in the hope of turning youtubers into ktl ers and then into DVDers. Bit of a slow and rocky road though.

    no probs

I started out in the first years on a cheapo £100 cannon dv camera

the second year I started using my Sony Pro HDV cameras – a big one – cots around £4,000 and a smaller one that cost me about half as much

now I am using a Panasonic waterproof camera for the rough stuff and two panasonic sd car HD cameras – my advice is to buy panasonic – you will never be let down

contact me if you wanty more details

Hi Dylan Australia calling! Love the U tube clips so much I just joined Keep Turning Left and organized my subscription via Paypal hope it works!
Enjoyed your information on the Small Hunter Mistral, so much I contacted the “Get more info” people on the craft, but as usual no reply, probably scared off with Australia. Ah well, just have to focus on your journeys and learn more about the boat that way.
So enthused I am selling my Illingworth & Primrose designed 25′ Top Hat, a full keel cruising boat in favor of something I can sail single handed in the trailerable line Timpenny, Sonata or similar.
Look forward to following your journey.

    thanks Phil

I am really happy with Katie L – but then I loved the slug until the beast started giving me gyp

    – I had kept an eye on Minstrel/liberties – always wanted one but at £8,000 they were a bit out of my price range – the slug cost me £2,200. . My mum left me money in her will to buy one. My advice is to buy as small a boat as you think you can cope with – one of the things about a trailer sailer is that it has to be easy to launch. Katie L is trailerable. I had a 15 footer with a cabin with a roller trailer. That was pretty easy to launch and recover single handed. Katie L is a bit of a mission.

so my advice is to buy something tiny with enough room to sleep and hide the gear from the rain and full standing headroom with the hatch open and a brolly bungeed to the hatchway. Make sure the galley is under the hatch – bingo – perfection

As a new viewer to ktl I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen, to the extent of recommending it to friends and family (with Christmas round the corner) hoping I can influence their choice of present.
Looking forward to more ktl, especially if reach Shetland. Most circumnavigators bypass the northern isles.
    Good luck with your endeavor.

I’m trying to introduce a sailing friend to your films. He and I both sail out of Chichester Harbour and the earliest episodes with the Slug would be of particular interest. However, I find that the early films (KTL0?) are no longer available from your first blog pages or You Tube. Is there any way of accessing that record of the beginning of the journey?
    Regards, Bill

    Very many thanks Dylan.
I hope my friend is as charmed by the films as I was.
    Best wishes, Bill

those films look pretty ropey now – standard definition, wind noise, wobbly camera. Technology has moved a long way in such a short time.
