You bought…. a cockpit tent – £21 plus P and P

I expect to be spending a fair amount of time in the cockpit on a pontoon waiting for it to stop raining so a good tarp to go over the boom is essential.

I had a great one that worked well on the slug and the Centaur.

However, I left it tightly sheeted across the cockpit area on the Centaur for the winter layup so Jon won it.

Bought another one from Tarpaulins direct

They make a really tough monotex which is more or less see through. I have used green or blue ones but they soon become a bit claustrophobic.

4 x 3 m £21.00

I will be very happy if it is never used - but it will get lots of use on the west coast

He is planning to keep her in scotland for a couple of summers

He loves fishing. I have known him for half a century – never seen him so happy.

Having spent a month sailing her he knew her inside out. He had spent three months looking at other boats but decided that the devil you know……

I wonder if you will need to make your tent more midge proof?

I think that would be impossible

I do have a net for the hatchway

we did discover that joss sticks work pretty well if you use them under a tarp
