Hi Dylan. Definitely not crappy. I think that this and the one before are great; brief but crammed wit interesting stuff, like for example what appears to be some Canadian type canoes under sail up north. Maybe a format to continue with if it keeps things on track for the next voyage. Hopefully all will ignore your suggestion to not contribute, and that includes me. Cheque in the post. Good luck. Ted

    thanks Ted…

it is slightly different way of telling a the story of a 250 mile journey in a small yacht so feel free to hold fire until the end. So excellent progress day 1 – sailed past a lot of nice places though… as you can see we have started to dawdle day two… I aim to post one a day until the story of the boat ends with her getting to glasgow and getting her ashore where prospective buyers can easily get to her.

She was a very good boat… in great condition… ready to take you safely to wherever you want to go.

Can’t find your post about your plans to continue sailing down the west side of Ireland so I hope you don’t mind if I post my opinion here?

In the words of Sgt Wilson (Dad’s Army) ‘Do you think that’s wise?’

I can understand the beauty of the Atlantic coast and the challenges it will bring. However, if you choose to continue via The Irish Sea, it would mean visiting Belfast, Isle of Man, Liverpool, Manchester Ship Canal (?), the Welsh coast and ports, Bristol, and so on.

Surely this would attract more views, interest and MOBs therefore more taps than the west coast of Ireland?

I plan (ned) to go down both coasts – the idea was to spend a year around both sides of th Irish sea and then go around the outside of ireland and up the shannon

Great Dylan really enjoyed both shorts, will you be combining to make a longer one?
Ive been selling stuff on ebay so ill make a tap, really would like to support you back onto the water.
Im still leaving Rhu on or around the 1st April bound for Stornaway but in no hurry, the berth is still available if you want it, youve turned me down before but what the heck I need the labour to get me thourgh the Crinon or ist single handed around the mull again for me.
    Keep up the good work.
    Keith

    thanks Keith,

I could combine the films into one but a youtube playlist will just run them one after the other anyway. Thanks for the offer of a place to park a boat but I think it unlikely that I will be in a position to get another tough boat this year. The Carribean sailors will have the field to themselves.

I like the sails on the canoes. Could you tell me what wee sail they are? Only seen the down wind circle sails for canoes/kayaks so far. I’d like one of these sails for mine. Works been kind of rubbish lately so no £ for a pocket yacht, all funding has gone to the upkeep of home and motor. Saw a nice sunray 21 for sale at cleethorpes, which would be ideal boat and location. Mebbe next year. Your old mirror is for sale for a similar price. Do you still highly rate them as you did in the mirror boat days?

I don’t know what they are – they look home made to me

you could always build a duck punt – which is a canoe that sails up wind.
