Some really great footage, I would have liked an occasional word as to what we were looking at. But the real world noises were also very nice, Ditch crawling at its best…wasn’t even raining for a change!

I did think about that… but then….it was an average week of an old bloke arsing around on his local river.

Wonderful. I shall be watching this video regularly for a while since I am taking a 3 day trip on a sailing barge from Ipswich to the Deben and back in August. It is nice to see in advance what the lower reaches look like and also the higher reaches that the barge will not be visiting. With a draft of 6′ 3″ or so a lot of the areas in the video are probably not accessible to a barge even at high water.

I see you have upped your rowing regime to rowing with a tow. Man, you must be getting fit.

It also seems that your PNM is getting worse as well as now suffering from CSD.

    I envy you.

I reckon you’ve scratched many a persons sailing itch with this film !

I have to say that your ingenuity knows no bound sir, that dinghy moves like a good’un and you have, or appear to have, perfect control over it, all that control with an oar over the side and no keel….respect sir!

And it’s great to see the mud shots again and the uber creek crawling, it reminded me of the early KTL days and the slug, (small s), I bet you never thought for a minute when you came up the Deben in the slug all those years ago that you would be living there, you see…. sometimes dreams can come true.

    All the best

the symptoms are all there I am afraid. I need to go back to hammering one boat really hard somewhere a long way from home rather than arsing about on one river.

Nice creek crawling sir! I wonder if my mac would fit in some of those spaces…:) I need 18″ of water and you seem to be floating on quite a bit less.

your mac would be right at home here – lots of shallow places to sail and shingle beaches on which to ground her

I did some puttering on the boat yesterday, but cannot get it wet until I return from my eldest daughter’s wedding and university graduation. Why can’t these kids put things off until the sun goes away for good?

What a fantastic camera Dylan. So much better than what I see with my own eyes. Can’t work it out – puzzled! Still, wish I had one, as I’ve recently returned from an IoM sailing tour and the 70 quid smart phone hasn’t done the trip justice..
