back in the days when I was an inland sailor

I have been out sailing the duck punt – reminded me about sailing Port Meadow

the best fun an old bloke can have when laid on his back

Hi Dylan, good fun eh? Presumably, the gates were locked (to protect people and children I guess?) which is why you pushed the punt through a handily bent railing. I kept imagining some authoritarian figure saying “Oy! You can’t do that there ‘ere!” and “…what do you know about that bent railing, sir? …….. I see, very convenient for you though, wasn’t it sir?”

What happened to the Bank Holiday Sunday video on the Deben? Have you taken it down? I thought you expressed yourself very well. Many of us feel the same way.

Finally, what was the music at the beginning of this duck punt video?

Dylan, as ever, the soundscapes to your clips are wonderful.

Dylan, that’s the way to do it!
The simple essence of clutterless sailing!

I’m just about to buy a sail equipped faltboat that I can carry with my bicycle-trailer to discover all the places my 31ft deep-keel “monster” and all the noisy mobos can’t get to.
    That’s the core…

Best wishes for your project and peace of mind!

there is no doubt that a small boat is simpler to manage – but it does not get you those mornings when you wake up, put the kettle, slide that hatch back on a new day and a new place …. you look, you listen…… the kettle boils and you sip your morning tea …. the world is a good place.

Your punt goes at a fair lick, doesn’t it? Or were you speeding up the film?

no speeding up in that one but the punts do feel fast…. some of it feels faster than it is because you are so close to the water…. but I am always surprised at how well they sail.
