    Dylan,
It’s one thing to read the words on a page, or even films; but to have actually sailed the East Coast of England and having visited Hartlepool, Scarborough, Rosyth and the Orkneys, I wonder how your historical-perspective of these events have changed?

I think my attitude towards the norse has changed over the years. Real respect for them as seamen. Less admiration when it comes to genocide. The Romans were no mean seafarers either. Respect for the German forces stationed along the Norwegian coast – the men on the water, over it and under it. As for the Shetland Bus blokes…..amazing men.

I have been researching the arctic convoys for the next film and stumbled across it. I guess Google knew that I was interested… which is both good and bad.
