Much enjoyed that. A few locations would have been helpful to me as I’m hoping to get up to the E coast in the near future.

it is an entertaining place to sail – intrigueing and challenging … yet gentle and sinuous. Not an ideal place for a deep keeler though

That is a LOT of mud! Here (PNW) it’s most nearly all rock. Kind of modifies ones attitude toward getting too close to the (probably) hard bits. (PS, Curious, what is the tidal range there?)

scraping the bottom is perfectly normal and safe. I sometimes run the boat aground to pull the sales up. The tidal range here is around 4.5m. I love the mud…. it is full of life and like the way the river changes from high to low tide.

Have you joined the drones club?
Anyhow, a nice film and the music is one of my favorites!

    Loved it!,

Playing ‘spot the location’ was great fun…took a while though, the birds eye view is quite weird until you get your eye in.

    Jim

if you want my take on the locations i’ll be glad to offer my thoughts….

    Cheers

The only one I have spotted is Burnham with the RCYC (steel/glass) clubhouse.
A few timestamp/place names would be most welcomed.

    Thanks

Many of the early locations were west mersea area.warren

West Mersea, The Strood, Bradwell Nuclear Power Station (What’s left of it) and Burnham. Have I missed anything?

Giles, I heard they were removing Bradwell nuke power plant. It was such a land mark for all my sailing at west mersea. Have this brightly lit building when returning at dawn was always so comforting …except the few times they turned the lights off? Very confusing. I assume they are also removing that strange water intake / breakwater.
    Cheers Warren

Hi Warren – I believe they have decided to reinstate a power plant at Bradwell – at least it is going to be a landmark for some time. The two big towers are coming down though. That weird island outfall just off the marina is probably too big to just dismantle…
