Geez you have it easy D – Wish I had nice skilful blokes turning up all the time to help me sort out what’s wrong with my boats….

    very lucky indeed

there are a lot of semi-retired old blokes with an astonishing array of skills in the solent area

always keen to offer advice and practical help

DVDs and ad lib tea/coffee seems to keep them going

they seem to think that filming the Uk coast is a project worth doing

we have had some wonderful times between jobs yarning about bad boats and good women

and occasionally the other way around

to some extent they regard me as a sailing friend – some of these blokes have sailed a lot of miles with me now

it is not often that a bloke with a 50 foot mobo turns up to offer a hand usually the helpful ones are blokes with modest old yachts

there is not a boat problem that has ever occurred that they have not encountered

Dave is the most amazing man – the way he can bring order to a wiring loom is astonishing

You appear to be in very capable hands. The radar and GPS look similar to units I have used before. Radar has been very important on several of my voyages. AIS is the new thing.

Well I’ll be blowed – radar! I have serious kit envy now… I’ll have to buy an AIS to keep one step ahead.
BTW My 13 month tour ends Saturday so I’ll be down the yard on Sunday – probably divorced on Monday.
Keep it up D – It’s great stuff!
