Katie L evening sail – the proof

Took the old girl out for a short spin on the estuary

man it was good being able to sail standing up

and got a clonk on my head as a reminder that you have to duck when you tack

and Evinrude also packed up

and I left my glasses on the boat

and echo sounder failed to fire up

all round a trip that was well up to spec

Great to see the Minstrel back on the water. I would imagine a perfect boat for the river. I am currently moored on the Deben, a lovely place.

OK what’s in the big green box in the dingy then ?

Sadly it is a box of cleaning materials, fuel cans, and tools. I use the box for moving stuff from the shed to the boat. It is waterpoof so the stuff does not get wet. I bought 50 of the boxes when we moved house so half my disorganised life is still in yellow plastic boxes. I will put them on ebay over the coming weeks as I empty them.

They cost me £5 each and made the move much easier

We’ve lived in our house for nine years and we still have three big plastic boxes full of stuff. We know what’s in them, we just don’t know where to put it.

I have about thirty still full of stuff – although ten are labelled Eleanor Fabrics and four Jake’s Books so not all down to me. Needless to say the woman who walks on water and world famous Vicar’s daughter, has cleared all hers.

Is that the masthead rig, or the gunter?

that is the gunter – I sold the masthead rig as part of the ongoing rationalisation and asset sweating operations
