Thanks Dylan. I have followed Nike Steiger week by week from series 1 number 1. The steepness of her learning curve and her dogged spirit is an example to us all. As for Delos, lovely people in a lovely boat in lovely places, what’s not to like? That said the endless convoluted comments and conversations generated by KTL and the opportunity to join you on your trip make this the brand leader. Keep looking for that boat.

Looks like a bunch of sailing babes in bikinis. My religion forbids me watch.

    Forgive me lord….

I’ve watched a few of the videos listed above and the are decent but I prefer KTL. Not sure what it says about me that I prefer videos about an old bloke in a smallish boat pottering around the UK over videos of bikini clad girls sailing large yachts in paradise?? Makes me feel like a full member of the MOB club.

what it mighty say is that everything about you, including your testosterone, is heading south maybe

Yes, Ive watched them all too, and while I love to see bikini clad girls, I only watch them once. I come back to KTL films over and over especially ones with seals sliding down mud slides. .Also seeing shiny newish boats is nowhere near as interesting as what we see here.

There does seem to be rather too much frolicking bare skin in the films – but then when I was under 30 I frolicked a bit as well. I think it is really interesting the way this sort of genre is emerging and shaping

Anyway, Dylan in a bikini might spell the end of KTL

Mouldy old git in a small boat making much more interesting films…..wins easily. Bet if you did the bikini babe stuff you’d widen your viewing demographic…but up north they’d need their waterproofs. Hope your bigger boat, awnings and more motoring doesn’t drag you down to this sort of shallow frippery.
Uh-oh. Think I must have gone mouldy too. When did that happen?

    • 7 September, 2015 at 9:10 pmdylan winter says:

sounds like a decription for a TV series – moldy old git sails around Britain mumbling

    • 7 September, 2015 at 9:34 pmPhil Sitch says:

I am inventing see through plastic waterproofs for Ron G, just in case.

      • 7 September, 2015 at 10:57 pmRon G says:

In the style of a 1970’s poncho to match the filming styles above perhaps? It’s an unfortunate winner.
I never thought of Dylan as a mumbler, more erudite and with a certain classy clarity…. when not on the drink obviously, but he has been up north for a bit now.

good idea – although what I want is a see through fisherman’s umbrella for the cockpit – not fir birdy baths but for rainy days

I like Simon C-aaaaa-rter on Youtube ( Simon Carter) , Australia’s Dylan Winter

    • 8 September, 2015 at 11:07 amdylan winter says:

I agree -he is excellent and sails long distances is a crap little boat.

      • 8 September, 2015 at 11:32 amRiley Morgan says:

Simon C-aaaa-ter is very brave, considering there are very few hidey holes to retreat too on Australias east coast. I think he has bags of experience and uses caution. Love his films too. He would see many bikinis where he is. His wife must watch his You Tube vids!

I know I’ll never get to sail the world with skinny bikini clad bottoms so I don’t bother much with the super popular keelboat sailing channels on youtube. If you want a sailing channel more in line with our special MOB style, but still want to look at a bottom, might I suggest the latest episode of Birgubben.

And another vote for Simon’s channel from me

      I love Birgubben

when he speaks it sounds like elvish poetry – and they love a drink – splendid time spent with those two

  8. 9 September, 2015 at 3:37 amKeith says:

All those are delightful and provide a load of pass time options. Did you see the Birgubben running the lil ob in the bucket of soapy water? Magnificent.

  9. 9 September, 2015 at 11:35 pmwarren says:

Yup , Nike Steiger is great, the others ok too but sailing films are more interesting when you have something to look at rather than just the sea and the crew!
    I really like http://www.yachtteleport.com/
These 2 did an amazing trip (north west passage) and finally have some new 2015 videos!.
I really like their boat too. Interesting history. lovely people.
But its the quality of the filming and the commentary that makes all the difference.
We MOB’s are so luck that you are a Pro and all you work is top notch.
    cheers

not enough blokes… what I will do is to sail this autumn on Katie L, bring her back to the garden, make some films, post them, earn the money for a ready to roll

      no probs

thanks for your enthusiasm W – very nice man

There does seem to be a never ending supply of boat adventure videos.
While these folks are only just started, the sold up and bought the boat they could afford and are off from the Great Lakes and heading down the Erie Canal.and on to the ICW.
But you can tell the difference…….http://youtu.be/RI3VfPjSX8E
Nice enough folks but just don’t have the filming and editing skills. As they don’t have a home base it must be hard. I think they just film and post to the web…..an interest trip I want to do myself but it’s missing the easy Dylan style that a pro brings to the game.
I’m not putting this family down they are trying to live the dream after all.
    Feel free to delete this.
Just an example that is not working yet.
