It is working and people have started looking for old centaurs
the latest to come across my desk is this one in Cardiff
although it is a Berwick apparently so is a bit bigger 31 foot
notice that it has already had the tiller extension done
they are after 3K for it no offers apparently - it has a working Volvo MD in it
but.... wait for it... no rig, no sails
aaaagh!
I have also been tracking down immobile wrecks in Topsham, North Norfolk and Cornwall. All in the wrong places but if I can find the right boat I will overcome the geographical problems.
the condition of this Berwick for 3K gives me hope that I will find a pretty good Centaur within my budget
so if you see any prospects do what Steve did and get that camera out

now on ebay
Now that’s one that I am considering, although the centre cockpit Pentland would be my preference.
I feel a trip to Cardiff is imminent
Dylan, you could go with your Hunter rig on this boat, you only need an adapter right?
shame when one loses its keels too :-))
This one’s on Ebay, just noticed it
I’d be tempted to build a wooden mast and boom.
Agree about the wolwo
Your hunter rig wouldn’t be anything like big enough to power a 31ft Westerly. unless I’ve misunderstood this dialogue.
Could you pick up a second hand rig etc?
Hi Dylan, You’ve mentioned several times about how you film for light and sound an how much better they appear on the telly. I’ve never been an audiophile, so I cannot comment on that. I recently updated my phone to a Samsung galaxy S4. True it only has a screen a bit over 4 inches but the detail on the U-tube video is incredible. So sharp and clear, feels like I’m looking thru a little window at the real thing. The settings on my phone always show the u-tube video in the highest resolution. Never fear tho, I shall continue to be a subscriber as I enjoy the Blog and comments section of the website.
Hmmm……… well I have a full set of DVDs and will add to it as they appear but there items in the extensive YouTube Blog records which seem to have hit the cutting room floor so I do have to resort to YouTube to enjoy some particular favourites. DVD video and audio quality is excellent of course and much to be preferred.
