There’s a special pontoon in Hell’s marina for whiny, narcissistic Millennial sailbloggers.

    – The wifi’s spotty, it smells of the neighbor’s cat-poop, the planking’s wobbly, their batteries never hold a charge, and they just can’t seem to get away from the dock.
    – There’s always something broken, the engine won’t start and the head’s blocked-up.
    – The chips are always stale, the ice has melted, the milk is off, and there’s no beer.
    – The locals are rude, the management doesn’t fix anything, and the dock-power is the wrong voltage.
    – And their neighbors are having loud, hot sex …and they’re not!

Oh dear Dylan, please may we have more of you wobbling about on your eBike in your wellies, rather than this sort of stuff. Ta. Ted PS. Don’t forget the woolly hat.

i’m always concerned if a persons on a sailboat, especially if world cruising, seems unable to SAIL the boat. many a world cruise has been done with no motor on-board or continued and completed after the motor has failed. the boat, ahem, have sails for a reason!

No thanks. If I go to patreon am I entitled to compensation? Never have I found looking at an attractive woman so annoying.

Laptop, cell, under a open hatch? We don’t leave them under closed hatches because of the drips. Speaking of drips, the self entitlement of these twinkies is mind boggling. There are supposed to be the leaders of tomorrow and an example for the next generation.
So long, and thanks for the fish..
Glad l am almost of the generation of Knox-Johnson, and yes, can even look to Dylan the Younger for inspiration.

    I rate sailblogger by three criteria;

    1. The proportion and propensity to gratuitously display near-naked female-flesh, Strangely, few younger male-sailbloggers ever appear shirtless — even the cute ones. (Hmmmm….)
    2. The over-use of “Hi Guys” and other cheesy opening greetings, with a sliding-scale for narcissism and self-centered non-awareness.
    3. The degree that I occasionally — or regularly — want to reach through the screen and strangle them as they do something that endangers the boat and any potential rescuers; outright stupidity, total lack of sailing knowledge, and outright Darwinian-ignorance of how the Universe works.

In defence, at least they are out there giving it a go and you have a choice not to watch!

surely a few minutes on the web would have reveled the problem. She is also getting very emotional about her dog.

These artistic types can be a bit highly strung.

Have to confess I do like this stuff but that episode really grated.

One of the problems with some of the sailing vloggers is that they undertake to post a film a week – that is a tough thing to do. They do a good good job of making films. Lots of weeks nuffink happens. However, I assume that a moment or two on google would turn up diesel bug as a probably cause of their symptoms. It could have saved the tears. However, she is really missing her dog – which is her tie with the land. The lady wants out of this little adventure.

Rather painful to watch but I was impressed at the end of the clip by her summary of diesel bug. They obviously don’t read PBO or YM because they’d have seen articles almost every month on this topic. I’ve only been sailing for 4 years and those articles have made me a bit paranoid. I’m assured the fuel supplied at West Cowes is not bio diesel. Back to the blog. We met a young couple this summer who have put good jobs on hold, bought a 70’s yacht having not sailed before and escaped the rat race. They sailed to Holland with an experienced sailor on board to give them some training. They also commented on the friendly help they had from the local yacht club. They sailed on there own down the French coast to Brest. They have a blog and web page, but are not asking for funds as far as I can tell. Learning on the job and making a good fist of it as they head to Portugal & Med. I applaud them for what they are doing, and I’m sure the experience will be put to good use later in life. I do have to remind myself that these 20 somethings probably don’t have the practical hands on experience we 60 plusses enjoyed. But they do have the spirit of adventure and nerve to take on bigger challenges than many of us would have tried when we were younger. The scanty clothing in many of these blogs does feel like a marketing ploy – like using P3 to sell tabloids, but perhaps its my age!

Nandji represents the classic bikini beach click bait channel. They are out there doing it, I’ll give them that. But, give us some substance, please.

BTW, wouldn’t be surprised if that package got in early, but the folks in the office just said, “f-it. They’re a-holes!”

Anyway, back to f-ing gunkholing, you git!
