38 miles in three days - probably walked more than that with the bloomin dog
The second day found us in Shuna sound- up to Loch Melfort, then into Craobh Haven Marina. Quiet night - great showers, lovelt people, few midges ashore, non on the pontoons. The next morning Jill set off for walk 1. Then we headed across to Shona to look at the abandonned faux castle on the hill at the Northern Ebd. A lady came out from a nearby house to tell us that we should not go inside but we are free to walk around the outside - brilliant place scotland. The house was built 100 years ago. It was supposed to be a design that would be used all over the world - two were built and orders were expected from America - they never showed. The house was occupied until the 80s. The island is now owned as a shooting estate for pheasant and deer.
Wonderful snaps.
Love the gorse!
Looks like a fine adventure. The shot of your wife with the boat in the cove in the background says it all.
Defiantly a strange story about the faux castle. It sounds like there is more to that story. It’s such a large structure and clearly a complex build. Was it supposed to be some sort of kit? Still an interesting place to explore.
Can’t help thinking the fendering on sweet pea is excessive but I assume it’s really for floatations ?
So that,s purple gorse? It looks like wild rhododendron from a distance . Lovely.
